Samsung has removed the charger head from its latest mid-range smartphone , the Galaxy A53 5G, which was only released globally on March 17, 2022.
The launch of the Galaxy S21 Series is the first step for Samsung to get rid of the charger head from the purchase box. Continue to other Samsung premium phones, starting from the S Series, then the Galaxy Z.
This is in line with Samsung’s commitment and sustainable vision of ‘Galaxy for The Planet’ to protect the environment and reduce product waste.
One of the things that Samsung does is to use recycled materials for all its newest products, eliminate chargers and make the size of the packaging more compact .
In addition, Samsung also uses packaging that is recycled from consumer goods.
“The first reason is one of Samsung’s commitments to maintain the sustainability of the ecosystem on earth,” said Ricky Bunardi, Mobile Experience Product Marketing Manager at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, Friday (18/03/2022).
Ricky also added, apart from removing the charger . Samsung also uses environmentally friendly materials and paper.
“We also use post consumer material for the side buttons and our SIM card slots,” he added.
Ricky reasoned to remove the charger head because the Galaxy A Series is not the first smartphone that consumers will have. Usually, they already have a charger that can be reused by them.
Another effort of commitment to protecting the earth’s environment is also shown by Samsung by providing a longer period of smartphone use for the Galaxy A53 5G.
Samsung provides Galaxy A53 up to 4 times software upgrades for One UI and also Android OS and security updates for up to 5 years so that users can use this smartphone longer.
